Publish Your Site to the Web
In order to publish your FrontPage web pages to the World Wide Web, you'll need to have an account with a web server that is equipped with the FrontPage server extensions (that is, capable of publishing pages from FrontPage). If you already have one, use that. If you don't, you can sign up for a free account with Angelfire. Just take a deep breath and follow the two-step process below:

Step 1: sign up for your Angelfire web account

  1. Go to www.angelfire.lycos.com.

    • click "sign up for FREE today" then "sign me up"

  2. On the Membership page, choose your settings

    • select web site URL (this will be your member name)

    • select password (write it down! don't forget!)

    • fill out personalization form

    • uncheck all "offers" boxes (unless you want them cluttering up your e-mail box)

  3. enter confirmation code and click "agree"

Your account is set up and you should now see your new member name in the upper right corner of your personal account page (you may have to slog through a page or two of ads to get there). No need to do anything else in Angelfire; the rest happens in FrontPage.

Step 2: publish your FrontPage web to Angelfire

  1. In FrontPage, create a new web site (Tutorial 1)

  2. When you have finished the tutorial, go to File>Publish Site (or click the Publish Site button on the toolbar)

  3. In the Remote Web Site Properties box, select "FrontPage or SharePoint Services"

  4. In the Remote Web site location window, enter your Angelfire URL (http://www.angelfire.com/your domain name/your member name

  5. Click OK

  6. You will be prompted for a username and password. Your username will be your domain name/your member name. Your password will be your current Angelfire password.

  7. Click OK. Publishing of your site to the Web will ensue (we hope!)

Note about publishing

  1. The first time you publish your site, you will get a message warning you of a conflict between your local and remote sites, because Angelfire has already created a page called "index.html" on your website. Select "Overwrite Remote Files" to replace the default Angelfire index page with your Sunshine Garden index page.

Questions or Problems?

I realize this can be a confusing process, with plenty of room for error and frustration. Don't worry. If you are having problems, contact me and we'll work it out. Good luck!
