Syllabus Summary

To complete the class you will do textbook assignments, participate in online discussions, and complete projects.  The requirements vary depending on how many credits you want to earn.

The textbook assignments are fun and mostly easy with a few that are moderately difficult.  The online  discussions involve writing to others in the class regarding a topic picked by the instructor.  These activities are intended to help you clarify your values and interests; help you narrow your search for a career; and help you make decisions.  The assignments include an interest inventory to help you sort out your preferences.

The projects involve reading and writing about jobs (career profile) and talking with people in the area of your interest (informational interview). Career profiles and informational interviews offer a way to learn more about a career before making a decision.

Credit Decision

You can take this class for 3, 2, or 1 credit(s).  The textbook assignments and the required contributions to the online discussions increase with the number of credits. The projects also increase with the number of credits.  As you know, 3 credit classes take more time than 2 or 1 credit classes.  You will learn more in the 3 credit class, but you may learn enough in the one credit class.
