Department of Campus Safety

Crime Statistics

The Department of Campus Safety is responsible for law enforcement and public safety issues for CCC's multi-site community. The Federal Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 11/90 (U.S. Public Law 101-542) requires that all colleges and universities make available statistics of crimes which is done through appropriate publications on an annual basis.

The Department of Public Safety responded to 4,743 calls for service during the 2007 school year, including 180 vehicle jump starts, and issued 197 parking citations and 178 warnings for on-campus traffic enforcement violations. Active "campus watch" participation by students and staff has been instrumental in the prevention and reporting of criminal activity. To report a crime or crime in progress call 971-563-0101.

The following table reports crime statistics for the past three calendar years as requried by law. Numbers without parentheses indicate incidents on the Clackamas Community College campus, including the main campus in Oregon City, Wilsonville/OATC and the Harmony/OIT metro Center. Numbers in parentheses refer to incidents on public property, including streets, sidewalks and parking facilities immediately adjacent to the campus.
