Rocks and Minerals
Explore the fascinating world of the solid earth. Rocks aren't "just rocks. Each rock type forms in a specific geologic environment and has a unique history of creation. Every kind of rock has a story to tell. Also explore the beautiful minerals that make up the rocks we see around us. Rocks and minerals feed the ecosystems of our planet and support all life forms as well. Learn to recognize the basic minerals and rock types formed from volcanoes, mountains, sedimentary regions etc. Understand how rocks function in the "rock cycle", maintain global ecosystems and enrich our lives.
