Types of Tutorial Services Provided

  • Small Groups are limited to five students, organized and led by a qualified tutor.  In-class announcements are made by the instructor or tutor.   Signs are posted and the location depends upon room availability.

  • Open or Drop-In Labs have dedicated space and regularly scheduled hours.   Qualified tutors are available to give limited assistance.

  • In-Class Tutors assist the instructor and make tutoring available to all students.

Examples of existing labs are:

  • Accounting Lab in McLoughlin Hall

  • Math and Computer Science Lab in Streeter Hall

  • Tutoring Center in CC-140

Labs in other academic areas can be set up at the request of/and assistance from faculty.

  • Accommodations are available for students  with documented disabilities.  When the disability is a barrier to necessary participation, a tutor can be assigned to assist the student in class.  The Disability Resource Center Coordinator and Accommodations Specialist also assist with interpreters, notetakers, and readers.
